About the treatment

About the treatment

Mediderma SALIPEEL DS with ultrasonic cleansing combines two steps in one visit: first the skin of the face and neck is cleansed with ultrasound, then a salicylic peel is applied.

The first step is ultrasonic cleansing: a spatula vibrates on damp skin, loosening the outer layer and lifting impurities out of the pores. The second is SALIPEEL DS by the Spanish brand Mediderma: salicylic acid dissolves in sebum and gets into the pores, and according to the manufacturer it exfoliates hardened skin cells, helps to unclog pores and has an anti-inflammatory action. Both steps work towards the same goal — clear pores.

For oily and problem skin: enlarged and clogged pores, blackheads, breakouts, an oily shine. If your skin is dry and sensitive, the specialist may suggest the same pairing with the gentle lactic LACTIPEEL, and for redness with the azelaic AZELAC PEEL.

The visit starts with an assessment: the specialist checks your skin and decides whether the peel can be done today. After make-up removal the face and neck are cleansed with ultrasound. The areas around the eyes and lips are then protected and the peel is applied in one or two coats; the manufacturer describes the light white film that appears as it dries as the sign that the peel has done its work, and tingling or burning is a normal reaction. It is finished with sun protection.

Straight after the treatment your skin may be slightly red, and over the following days there may be some light flaking — the usual course of a superficial peel. Do not rub or pick at flaking skin, use a moisturiser and apply high-factor sun protection every day; avoid sunbeds and deliberate tanning during this time. The specialist will tell you after the assessment how many sessions you need and how far apart. Do not squeeze spots between visits, as this can leave marks.

At the examination the specialist looks at your skin type and your goal — glow, tone, density, post-acne — and chooses the protocol and the depth of treatment. The examination is part of the visit, so no separate “introductory” consultation is needed.

It depends on the protocol. Gentle facials and moisturising treatments leave no noticeable peeling — you can go out the same day. More active ones renew the skin more visibly; when that is expected, the specialist will say so in advance so you can plan your week.

Warmth or a light tingling; the discomfort is brief. The specialist watches the skin's reaction and, if needed, uses a neutraliser and soothing care.

Stop home retinoids and acids 5–7 days beforehand — if you use strong actives, tell us in advance and the protocol will be adjusted. Before a peel — no fresh tan.

For 24–48 hours — no sauna and no overheating; do not rub the skin with your hands or exfoliate it. SPF every day, even in cloudy weather; no sunbed and no active tanning for 7–14 days. Home acids — only once the specialist allows them.

Glow is often noticeable within 2–5 days. Tone and texture change over a course, and each treatment has its own interval. Ultrasonic cleansing: approximately 2–4 weeks, depending on the condition of the skin. Peel: usually 1–2 weeks, but we always take into account the type and intensity of the specific peel. Microneedling: approximately 3–6 weeks, depending on the depth of treatment and how the skin recovers. Rejuvenation / lifting: once every 3–4 weeks. We set intervals not only by the calendar — we check whether the skin has fully recovered after the previous treatment; the plan is drawn up at the examination for your goal.

About herpes, inflammation, pregnancy, increased sensitivity and medication — this matters before the start, so that a safe protocol can be chosen or the visit rescheduled.
