About the treatment

About the treatment

Microneedling is an anti-ageing treatment without injections: the skin is pricked with many fine needles to trigger its own renewal and collagen production.

A device with a tip of fine needles makes many microscopic punctures in the skin. The skin responds to them as to a minor injury, starting its repair process and producing collagen and elastin. At the same time a skin care product is applied: through the micro-channels it reaches deeper than it would on its own. The specialist will tell you at the assessment which product suits your skin.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, microneedling is used for fine lines, uneven skin tone and texture, enlarged pores and acne scars. At the centre it is offered as a treatment for the first signs of ageing: loss of firmness, dullness, fine lines. If there is active inflammation on your skin, the treatment is postponed — the specialist will ask about anything that rules it out before starting.

The visit starts with an assessment: the specialist checks your skin and makes sure there is no reason to avoid the treatment. The skin is cleansed and prepared, then the specialist works over it area by area with the needles, choosing the intensity to suit your skin, and applies the skin care product; you will feel a prickling sensation. It is finished with soothing skin care.

Straight after the treatment your skin will be red and may feel as if mildly sunburnt, with some slight swelling — this usually settles within a few days. Do not wear make-up for the first 24 hours, avoid acids, scrubs and retinol over the next few days unless the specialist agrees, and use sun protection every day. The specialist will tell you after the assessment how many sessions you need and how far apart.

At the examination the specialist looks at your skin type and your goal — glow, tone, density, post-acne — and chooses the protocol and the depth of treatment. The examination is part of the visit, so no separate “introductory” consultation is needed.

It depends on the protocol. Gentle facials and moisturising treatments leave no noticeable peeling — you can go out the same day. More active ones renew the skin more visibly; when that is expected, the specialist will say so in advance so you can plan your week.

Warmth or a light tingling; the discomfort is brief. The specialist watches the skin's reaction and, if needed, uses a neutraliser and soothing care.

Stop home retinoids and acids 5–7 days beforehand — if you use strong actives, tell us in advance and the protocol will be adjusted. Before a peel — no fresh tan.

For 24–48 hours — no sauna and no overheating; do not rub the skin with your hands or exfoliate it. SPF every day, even in cloudy weather; no sunbed and no active tanning for 7–14 days. Home acids — only once the specialist allows them.

Glow is often noticeable within 2–5 days. Tone and texture change over a course. Microneedling: approximately 3–6 weeks, depending on the depth of treatment and how the skin recovers. We set intervals not only by the calendar — we check whether the skin has fully recovered after the previous treatment; the plan is drawn up at the examination for your goal.

About herpes, inflammation, pregnancy, increased sensitivity and medication — this matters before the start, so that a safe protocol can be chosen or the visit rescheduled.
