About the treatment

About the treatment

Hyaluronic acid is the skin’s own substance for holding water. With age its reserve shrinks, and the skin becomes drier and loses tone. During biorevitalisation the product is injected in tiny amounts directly into the skin across the whole treatment area: it replenishes that reserve and supports the cells responsible for the skin’s density and elasticity. It is not a filler — the aim is not to change volume or facial features but to improve the quality of the skin itself.

It is chosen for dry and dehydrated skin, a dull or uneven complexion, fine lines, and loss of tone and firmness. In Tallinn, biorevitalisation is also part of the SKIN HYDRA programme, which our centre put together to restore the skin’s moisture balance.

Before the treatment the specialist examines your skin, asks about your health and checks for contraindications — if in doubt, they will ask you to consult a doctor first. The skin is cleansed, then a series of small injections is made across the area. It feels like brief pricks; sensitivity varies from person to person, and the specialist will explain beforehand what to expect.

Straight after the visit the injection marks are visible; there may be redness, swelling, tenderness and occasionally bruising — this usually settles within a few days. During this time do not touch or massage the treated area; a cold pack can help reduce swelling. The specialist will tell you after the assessment how many sessions you need and how far apart.

You can book, but the visit starts with an examination: the specialist looks at the area and says whether the treatment is suitable now. If it is not, you will be told plainly and offered something else — or not taken on.

What it feels like depends on the area and on what exactly is done. What you yourself will feel, the specialist will explain at the appointment, before the start.

Each treatment has its own answer, and it cannot be given in advance. How many visits and at what intervals, the specialist will tell you after the examination.

The formula is chosen for your skin and your goal, so the specialist names it at the appointment: what exactly, in what amount and why.
