Expression lines appear where the facial muscles contract most often: on the forehead, between the brows, at the corners of the eyes. Over time the skin there starts to fold along the same lines. During the correction, a product is injected into the chosen muscles that temporarily weakens their contraction: the skin above them creases less, and the lines look softer. The effect develops not straight away but over several days; in time it wears off, and the treatment can be repeated if you wish.
It is chosen when lines on the forehead, between the brows or around the eyes are noticeable with expressions and are starting to stay at rest. The price on the menu depends on the number of areas — one, two or three — and “forehead + between the brows” is a separate option; the specialist will tell you at the assessment how many areas you need. If a line is deep and visible without any movement, they may also suggest a filler — also on the centre’s menu.
The treatment is carried out by a suitably qualified specialist and only after an assessment. They ask you to frown, raise your eyebrows and smile — this shows which muscles work hardest — ask about your health, medication and allergies, and check for contraindications — these include pregnancy and breastfeeding, conditions involving muscle weakness, inflammation in the area, allergy to the product and certain medications; if in doubt, they will ask you to consult a doctor first. The skin is cleaned with an antiseptic and a few precise injections are made into the chosen muscles. It feels like brief pricks.
Straight after the treatment there may be small bumps, redness, swelling and occasionally a bruise at the injection points; now and then a mild headache. This settles on its own. On the day of the treatment do not rub or massage the area, and avoid saunas and strenuous exercise. Rarely, an eyelid or eyebrow may droop temporarily — if you notice this or anything worries you, contact the centre. The specialist will tell you after the assessment when to judge the result and when a repeat treatment is possible.
