You can book, but the visit starts with an examination: the specialist looks at the area and says whether the treatment is suitable now. If it is not, you will be told plainly and offered something else — or not taken on.

About the treatment
About the treatment
Everyone has nasolabial folds — they are the natural border between the cheek and the area around the mouth. With age the tissues lose volume and firmness, and the folds deepen. A filler is a gel injected with a fine needle into the fold area: it restores volume from within, so the fold looks softer. Most such gels are based on hyaluronic acid — a substance the skin itself contains that holds water; the specialist will tell you at the consultation which product the centre uses. The aim is to soften the fold, not erase it: the face should stay natural and expressive.
It is chosen when the nasolabial folds have become noticeably deeper and give the face a tired or stern look. If the fold has deepened because the cheek tissues have descended, working on the fold alone may not be enough — the specialist will tell you so at the assessment.
The treatment is carried out by a suitably qualified specialist and only after an assessment. They ask about your health, medication and allergies, and check for contraindications — these include pregnancy and breastfeeding, inflammation or a rash in the area, allergy to any component of the product and a number of chronic conditions; if in doubt, they will ask you to consult a doctor first. The skin is cleaned with an antiseptic and the gel is injected in small amounts along the fold on both sides, with symmetry checked throughout. It feels like brief pricks; the specialist will explain beforehand what to expect.
Afterwards there may be redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising at the injection points — this usually settles within a few days. Do not press or massage the area, and use a cold pack to reduce swelling; for the first few days avoid saunas and strenuous exercise. Serious complications are rare, but if you notice severe or increasing pain, pale or darkening skin, or any change in your vision, contact the centre straight away. The specialist will tell you after the assessment whether and when a touch-up is needed.
